Here is another interesting factoid for the Olympics in regards to Social Media:
The London Olympics have been dubbed the first “Social Media Games.” With sports fans, athletes and the media being heavy users of social media including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, the 2012 Olympics is proving to be unlike any other in terms of how we watch and interact with the athletes and the Games.
When the 2000 Sydney Games were held just 12 years ago, few people had fast Internet connections. During the Athens Games in 2004, people were beginning to adapt to smartphones. At the Beijing Olympics in 2008 there were 100 million Facebook users, which seems like a lot; but today for the London 2012 Games, there are about 900 million Facebook users. Twitter was new in 2008, but now there are more than 500 million users sending about 400 million tweets daily. As a result, many millions of people now get and share their sports news via social media.
Did you know that some of the events that have been dropped from the Olympic Games over the years include the Tug-of-War, Pelote Bisque, Cricket, Polo and the shooting of live pigeons?

The Hoodie
Years ago, I would never have imagined that they would become so popular that even Executives would be wearing them. But I have to say that I love them. And they have come a long way since I was a kid. Much cooler designs.
What made me think of this was a recent article about “viral clothing” where they featured the Executive Hoodie. Check it out – they go for $148. http://www.betabrand.com/women/womens-executive-hoodie.html
