In September, LinkedIn announced a new look for company pages. But only a few companies had early access to the redesign. As of today, LinkedIn rolled out the redesign to all company pages. But what does this mean for marketers?
So you have started to become pretty active on Facebook and Twitter and you have been seeing some spikes in activity on your website. But it is still difficult to see exactly what all this social networking is actually doing for your business. Are these page spikes you are seeing actually a result of your social media activity?
Where do you go if you want craft ideas, recipes, home projects, what’s in style, things for kids and baby, photos, art, what’s happening in Hollywood, info graphics, industry news, inspiration, a good laugh, travel ideas and more?
Quite simply, the answer to that question is, no. But that isn’t really where I was going to go with this conversation, just a little hook if you will. Certainly engaging with our fellow global citizens and friends via social channels is here to stay. It could be a good idea that maybe we don’t want to engage (read: share) quite so much, but it will definitely continue to evolve. No, what I want to discuss here is literally the word “engagement” or “engage”. It has entered the realm of business vernacular that makes me almost want to “disengage” every time someone brings it up. It’s a business buzz word on steroids. This is the honest truth…with only a slight bit of exaggeration; I heard that word 37 times yesterday.
